The most popular competitive version of the game in the West is known as the (or "Inazuma Eleven Strikers Xtreme"). This fan-made modification builds upon the original 2012 Xtreme release. It adds previously planned but unused playable characters, new moves for characters with unused voice lines, rebalances gameplay for a more diverse competitive meta, and includes numerous quality-of-life changes. This community-driven project has become so successful that it is now the main tournament standard for the game's competitive scene.
