Instead of Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) breaking his brother Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) out of a state-of-the-art American prison, Michael finds himself incarcerated in the lawless (Sona Federal Prison) in Panama. Orchestrated by the shadowy conspiracy known as "The Company," Michael is tasked with breaking out a mysterious fellow inmate named James Whistler (Chris Vance). If he fails, The Company threatens to kill his loved ones, including Sara Tancredi and Lincoln's son, LJ.
Season 3, often referred to as "Prison Break: The Conspiracy," takes place several years after the events of the first two seasons. The story shifts to the fictional Sona prison in Bolivia, where Michael Scofield has been imprisoned.
