However, the laws of physics and information theory place limits on this process. While text and code compress very well, video and high-quality audio files (which make up the bulk of Burnout Revenge’s file size) do not. Consequently, a "highly compressed" version of the game often comes with trade-offs. In many of the ultra-compressed versions found on the internet, the publishers have stripped out the high-fidelity music, replaced cinematic cutscenes with lower-resolution versions, or removed the voice acting entirely. The demand for these versions stems not necessarily from a desire for a degraded experience, but from the necessity of the digital divide.
