Below is the most famous and widely used AWP fast switch script for CS 1.6. It binds the fast switch to the (secondary attack/zoom). When you press and hold RMB, it zooms; when you release, it fires and instantly switches.
This requires careful timing and is not allowed on all servers.
This script explicitly switches to your knife (slot 3) and back to the AWP (slot 1) every time you fire. It is incredibly stable and prevents you from accidentally pulling out a grenade.
When you fire a shot with the AWP, the default game mechanics force your character to visually pull the bolt back before you can fire again. If you manually hit your "Previous Weapon" key (default Q ) twice immediately after firing, you switch to your knife and back to the AWP instantly. This eliminates the visual downtime and resets the weapon to be ready to fire significantly faster.
Unlike newer versions of Counter-Strike, the noscope trajectory in CS 1.6 has a massive spread cone. Avoid noscoping unless the enemy is at point-blank range.
