The band's first album, Hints, Allegations, and Things Left Unsaid , was initially released in on the small Atlanta indie label Rising Storm Records . It was a modest, independent effort that captured the raw energy and melodic sensibilities of the band. However, when the lead single "Shine" began receiving significant regional airplay, the major labels came calling.
