While OpenGD77 is a replacement for the official firmware, it's not guaranteed to work on all versions of the DM-1702. The project was originally designed for the Radioddity GD-77 and its clones, including the Baofeng and RT-84 models. This is a critical detail: The DM-1702's compatibility is variable. Some users have had success, while others have found that certain sub-variants (especially some Version 1 radios) are incompatible and can be bricked by OpenGD77.
