The story tracks three crime families from the 1940s colonial era through the turn of the millennium. It focuses on Shahid Khan's early exploits, his son Sardar Khan’s relentless quest for revenge against coal magnate Ramadhir Singh, and the rise of Sardar’s son, Faizal Khan.
