Multicast Upgrade Tool __top__ Jun 2026
Transitioning a network from legacy analog or unicast systems to a robust multicast framework.
Its primary advantage is its scalability; it uses UDP's multicast abilities so that it doesn't take longer to install 15 machines than it would to install just 2. UDPcast can be started from an included busybox boot image for OS installations, or from the command line for other purposes. It can also be booted from CD, via the network using PXE (Preboot Execution Environment), or from floppy media, making it highly flexible for disk imaging and system deployment. UDPcast is released under the GPL 2.0 license, making it free to use and modify. multicast upgrade tool
